Britney Spears Opens Up About Her Postpartum Depression | Entertainment

In her new memoir, ‘The Woman in Me,’ Britney Spears opens up about suffering from postpartum depression & having “just about every symptom.” In the book, Spears recalls the difficult times after giving birth to her two sons, Sean and Jayden Federline, who are a year apart in age.  Spears also reflected on the challenging times following the births of her two sons, Sean and Jayden Federline, who are one year apart.  She explained that the constant paparazzi attention around her two infant sons made her depression worse.  “Unfortunately, there wasn’t the same conversation about mental health back then that there is now… I was displaying just about every symptom of perinatal depression: sadness, anxiety, fatigue,” wrote Spears in the memoir.  According to the New York Times, she links her mental state with her 2007 head-shaving incident, saying she was “out of my mind with grief.” Spears feels that being abandoned by her husband and the “torture of being separated from my two babies” had her thinking “like a child.”
