A new season is here for the Indiana Pacers.
With several new faces like Obi Toppin and Bruce Brown, along with first-round draft picks Jarace Walker and Ben Sheppard, the Pacers hope to reach the playoffs in 2023-24. Tonight, the Pacers host the Wizards in the home opener of the new season.

The Pacers led by 5 going into the half, but they really turned it on in the second half and won by 23. In his debut with Indiana, Bruce Brown led the team with 24 points. Washington’s Kyle Kuzma had a game-high 25 points.
Indiana shot 53% from the floor while Washington shot 46%. The Pacers made 20 of 43 3-point attempts (47%).

As a team, Indiana has shot 57% while Washington is at 47%. Bruce Brown is up to a team-high 24 points. Tyrese Haliburton has a double-double of 20 points and 11 rebounds. Myles Turner is also flirting with a double-double (11 points, 8 rebounds), but needs a few more boards. Eight Pacers have scored 11 or more points.

Bruce Brown is having a heck of a debut for the Pacers. Brown has made 6 of 7 3-point attempts and leads the team with 22 points. He has also reached 3,000 career points.

Tyrese Haliburton scored 15 points during the third and has 20 in the game. He is also flirting with a double-double as he stands at 9 assists.

After keeping the game close throughout, the Pacers have gone on a 16-4 run to start the second half. Tyrese Haliburton has been on a tear with 11 points so far in the quarter.

Four Pacers have scored double-digits in the first half. Bennedict Mathurin leads the team with 13 points while Bruce Brown has 12. Jalen Smith and Buddy Hield have scored 11 points each off the bench. Meanwhile, Tyrese Haliburton has 5 points and 7 assists.
The Pacers have shot 52% (12 of 23) from 3-point range.
The two teams traded the lead for a little bit before Bennedict Mathurin hit a 3-pointer from the right side.

Andrew Nembhard made it a 2-point game after a basket. Jalen Smith is now up to 11 points.

Jalen Smith is playing well off the bench and leads the team with 8 points. He didn’t score his first basket until there were a little over 4 minutes left in the quarter.
Indiana tied it at 16-16 but the Pacers have lost that momentum in the last couple minutes. The Pacers are shooting 41% from the field so far.
Tyrese Haliburton hasn’t missed a shot and has 5 points so far (including a 3-pointer). The Wizards, however, are scoring with ease in the paint.

On the Pacers’ first possession, Tyrese Haliburton hit the floor hard as it looked like the floor was a little wet. He got up immediately though so it doesn’t appear to be an issue. Haliburton and Bennedict Mathurin have 2 points each for Indiana.
