50 Cent continues to level up beyond his legendary music career. The 48-year-old mogul recently opened his G-Unit film and television studio.
KSLA12 reported on Tuesday (Dec. 12) that the Shreveport, La. city council approved the “In Da Club” rapper leasing Millenium Studio. The studio will be the creative hub for his G-Unit Films and Television company.
“We already know that 50 Cent is a mighty mogul in the entertainment business,” Councilwoman Tabatha Taylor said. “But, the residual affects for local businesses here is what’s going to be felt. We have rebranded Shreveport in the entertainment industry, and now we are considering ourselves back again as an entertainment mecca.”
50 Cent celebrated the momentous occasion with his own social media posts. “All Roads lead to Shreveport if you ready to work in film and television,” he wrote via X, formerly known as Twitter, and Instagram on Wednesday (Dec. 13). “G-unit studios Is officially in Louisiana. BOOM GLG GREENLIGHTGANG gunitbrands.com.”
G-Unit Film And Television company is responsible for multiple popular shows of the last few years, namely Power, Black Mafia Family (BMF), For Life, and more.
It’s been a busy year for 50, as he embarked on The Final Lap Tour celebrating the 20th anniversary of his debut album Get Rich Or Die Tryin’. His road trip began in July and the final North American stop was in Toronto in September. From there, he headed overseas to places like Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Milan, and Prague for the tour’s second leg.
50 Cent is currently in the midst of the tour’s third leg, which stops in Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, and Auckland.
He’s even been part of new music this year, appearing on an updated version of Nicki Minaj’s “Beep Beep” from her latest album Pink Friday 2.
