Awards honor family entertainment

Tonight’s awards honor family entertainment.

“The Family Film and TV Awards seek to honor excellence in family-orientated film making,” the show’s site says.

“These awards are presented to both television series and movies.

“A panel of industry leaders, celebrities and the readers of Popstar! Magazine will vote for their top choices in 11 different categories.

“The winners of each category will receive their award during the broadcast.”

Magic at tonight’s show

Magician Trigg Watson will perform at tonight’s show.

Singer Andy Grammer will also perform at the 26th annual Family Film and TV Awards.

Award categories revealed

The 11 awards being given out tonight are:

  • Best Iconic Classic Series (Television)
  • Best Family Film (Television)
  • Best Family Entertainment Series (Television)

Akbar and Amanda are co-hosts

On December 1, 2020, Amanda Kloots was named a permanent panelist on The Talk during the show’s 11th season.

On September 2, 2021, retired NFL player Akbar Gbaja-Biamila joined The Talk for the program’s 12th season.

Akbar and Amanda host the show with Natalie Morales, Sheryl Underwood, and Jerry O’Connell.

Meet your hosts – Akbar Gbajabiamila

Akbar Gbajabiamila was born on May 6, 1979. He is an American TV personality and former professional football player.

He was a defensive end and linebacker who played at Los Angeles Crenshaw High School. 

Akbar went undrafted but signed with the Oakland Raiders where he played from 2003 to 2004.

He also played for the San Diego Chargers in 2006 and the Miami Dolphins a year later. 

Akbar was with the Oakland Raiders practice squad in 2008 but was released at the start of the season.

He is the host of American Ninja Warrior and American Ninja Warrior Junior.

Meet your hosts – Amanda Kloots

Amanda Kloots was born on March 19, 1982.

She is a celebrity fitness trainer. She’s also a ballet dancer and has danced in several Broadway productions.

 Amanda has been a co-host of The Talk since 2021.

Amanda has one son, Elvis, with her late husband Nick Cordero, who died in July of 2020.
