Topics of conversation for the 2024 summit will include artificial intelligence, audience engagement, original storytelling, non-traditional distribution routes, streaming, and more issues relating to women and the evolving entertainment industry.
The nonprofit Women in Entertainment was founded by Renee Rossi and Gretchen McCourt in 2015.
“We’re excited to continue our mission, spotlighting amazing, successful people in entertainment and media who generously share their valuable guidance and expertise,” Rossi said in a statement Tuesday. “Over the past few years, we’ve seen a rapid emergence of new technologies, content formats, and storytelling avenues, making the entertainment landscape more intricate and invigorating than ever. We’re proud to serve as a resource for aspiring professionals as they navigate the industry and discover their unique voice.”
Additional 2024 speakers include Traci Paige Johnson and Jennifer Twomey (“Gabby’s Dollhouse,” creators and EPs); Lauren Neustadter (Hello Sunshine, president of film and TV development), Beatriz Acevedo (Suma Wealth, CEO and co-founder); Kristin Hahn (Echo Films co-founder, Hahnscape Entertainment founder), Heather Zuhlke (“BMF,” EP and showrunner); Irina Shames (Loaded and Open World, CCO), Aaron Korsh (“Suits,” creator and EP); Casey Johnson (“Not Dead Yet,” co-creator and showrunner); Annie Balagot (Hartbeat, SVP of global media), Heather Hach Hearne (“Freaky Friday,” screenwriter); Rachel Kimbrough (STX, EVP of business and legal affairs); and Roma Roth (“Virgin River,” EP).
Starz #TaketheLead is the event’s official sponsor; the network will host a Transparency Talk featuring female industry leaders.
