Almost a year ago to the date, Hoboken locals came out in droves to catch a glimpse of Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, who were in town filming the upcoming Colleen Hoover novel-turned-movie It Ends With Us. Hoboken and Jersey City, it truly does end with us: the official trailer just dropped, and with it, many familiar Hudson County locations. From popular Newark Avenue bar South House in Jersey City to Hoboken’s Field Colony dressed as “Lily Bloom’s,” the It Ends With Us trailer feels like a Hoboken + Jersey City version of Where’s Waldo — and we’re keeping score. How Many Can You Spot?
The It Ends With Us trailer is a total tear-jerker, but through watery eyes, we were able to spot five familiar Hoboken + Jersey City locations. The story is set in Boston, so our little cities are posing as Bean Town for a majority of the movie, but savvy locals might recognize:
South House | 149 Newark Avenue, Jersey City
The popular Jersey City bar is the scene of Lily’s (Blake Lively) reunion with her childhood love interest Atlas (Brandon Skelnar). It also appears to be the arena for a heated physical altercation between Atlas and Lily’s adult love interest, Ryle (Justin Baldoni).
Field Colony | 1001 Bloomfield Street, Hoboken
Portraying the role of Lily Bloom’s — the namesake flower shop of Blake Lively’s protagonist — this Hoboken art gallery + studio is a main character throughout much of the trailer. This is also the famed location where Hoboken locals spotted the crew just a year ago, which you can read more about here.

Newport Waterfront | Jersey City
Earlier this year, Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni were spotted filming on the Newport Waterfront, but in the trailer, Blake Lively conquers the Hudson River alone in two separate scenes: in the first, she’s smiling in a puffer jacket, and in the second, she’s stress-running into the distance. We, too, frequently stare longingly at the waterfront — the stress-running, not so much.
Van Vorst Farmer’s Market | York Street, Jersey City
Lily Bloom must be an HG reader because the trailer features her browsing the aisles at one of our favorite local events, the Van Vorst farmer’s market — which happens seasonally on York Street.
Story Residential | 1000 Bloomfield Street, Hoboken
An innocuous detail to most, this real estate agency is located right across from Field Colony. Its signage is featured in almost every scene at Lily Blooms.
The Lore
Most of us remember when the It Ends With Us crew rolled into town, prompting what feels like an endless roster of movies to film in the Hudson County area (which we’ve been keeping track of, naturally). But if you’re someone with exceptionally low screen time, a brief primer.
Last May, signage went up at Hoboken’s Hudson Tea building alerting residents that filming for a major motion picture would occur throughout the week. Filming was extended, and the month of May was marked by frequent film crew sightings. Everything came to a head on May 17th, when Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni were spotted embracing on Bloomfield Street. The crew remained in the area for two days.
Production for the movie halted during the WGA Strike and promptly resumed this past January once the strike was resolved. The duo was again spotted at the Jersey City waterfront — accompanied by Blake Lively’s husband, Ryan Reynolds — and remained in the area for the following week. Production wrapped shortly thereafter.
About the Movie
The book follows a girl named Lily who has just moved and is ready to start her life after college. Lily then meets Ryle and falls for him. As she is developing feelings for Ryle, Atlas, her first love, reappears and challenges the relationship between Lily and Ryle. Blake Lively is set to portray Lily in the film; Justin Baldoni, Ryle; Brandon Sklenar, Atlas.
