Collegians Look To Qualify Into the French Open Singles Main Draw

Men’s Singles Qualifying Draw | Women’s Singles Qualifying Draw

Paris, France – The very best tennis players in the world are in Paris, France this week for the playing of the second Grand Slam of the season, the French Open. Of these standout players, several have ties back to college tennis, including 25 players who are competing in the Men’s and Women’s Qualifying Singles Draws as they look to join the over 20 players with collegiate ties already in the Singles Main Draw.

Featuring both names of new and old in the college tennis community, players such as JJ Wolf (Ohio State), Astra Sharma (Vanderbilt), Gabriel Diallo (Kentucky), Yuliia Starodubtseva (Old Dominion), and Maxime Cressy (UCLA) are just a few of the names that have carried over their success at the college level on to the professional tours.

Competing for one of 16 qualifying spots in both the men’s and women’s singles main draws, this year’s qualifying play will span from Monday, May 20th through Friday, May 24th. For those who do qualify, they will be given a day off on Saturday before main draw play begins in Paris on Sunday, May 26th.
