Film Day celebrates entertainment industry’s economic impact

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Some television personalities were in Albany on Thursday to highlight the impact of the film industry. The Capital Region and Adirondack Film Alliance hosted Film Day at the Albany Capital Center.

There were panel discussions for those looking to enter the field. The co-hosts of “Who’s Afraid of a Cheap Old House” on HGTV also stopped by to share their experience. They filmed a number of episodes in the Capital Region and highlighted how it helps the local economy.

“We are super passionate about keeping business local,” co-host Ethan Finkelstein said. “We hire local contractors. We talked to and went to local shops here in the area.”

They have restored eight homes so far, and they said they hope to help more families become homeowners.
