Ellie Duque Hired As Deadline President – Deadline

Ellie Duque has joined Deadline as President. Duque will bring her vast experience to help the continuing evolution of Deadline beyond being the preeminent breaker of Hollywood news, and into other domestic and international platforms. Duque replaces Stacey Farish, whose resignation was accepted during the summer. Duque will report to Tom Finn, Penske Media’s Executive Vice President of Operations and Finance based in Los Angeles. She starts October 9.

“We are a close-knit team at Deadline and are so proud of what we’ve built,” said Nellie Andreeva and Mike Fleming, Deadline’s Co-Editor-In-Chiefs. “It was important to find someone who truly understands who we are and where we want to go. Ellie’s deep knowledge and contacts in the entertainment industry and her collaborative nature have us excited for what the future holds.”

In her new role, Duque will oversee Deadline’s revenue streams and business operations across all platforms, leading sales, marketing, international, licensing and creative strategies including social media, video and events.  As did Farish, Duque will also oversee Gold Derby. She comes to us from 101 Studios, where she served as Executive Vice President Brand Partnerships and helped build the Taylor Sheridan empire into a lifestyle juggernaut through partnerships across various properties, channels and content.  Previously, she served as SVP Sales, Service and Sponsorship at On Location, a division of Endeavor which represents Rightsholders such as the NFL and NCAA as well as O&O properties UFC and New York Fashion Week.  Duque spent the prior 5 years as the SVP, Publisher for Entertainment Weekly and EW.com, where she oversaw the magazine and the launch of the Audio, OTT and Digital first to market initiatives.

“Ellie is a seasoned executive within the entertainment and media industries with a real talent for leading teams and driving revenue across multiple categories of business,” said Finn. “Her stellar reputation, strong relationships and creative approach make her an ideal fit for this role. We look forward to watching her innovate and expand Deadline’s footprint bringing a new perspective to the business.”

Said Duque: “Deadline is a powerful platform that has proven to be even more essential and relevant as Hollywood evolves. I’m excited to return to my media roots and work with this incredible team to bring new ideas to these industry leading brands.”
