ELLENSBURG, Wash. – Central Washington University sophomore women’s rugby prop Lauren DiPasquale has been announced as a member of the USA Women’s U20’s traveling roster. Joining DiPasquale as the official USA Women’s U20’s Athletic Trainer is CWU Athletic Trainer Janie Kluempers.
“I’m excited for Lauren to hit the international stage in what will be a great overseas competition,” CWU Head Women’s Rugby Coach Matt Ramirez said. “Lauren has made huge strides this past year putting her in the position to wear the red, white, and blue for the first time. The Work she has put in to return to the field and take on a new position has been great to witness. What an honor it is to take the stage for the USA. I’m looking forward to seeing her journey through the pathways and reaching new heights.”
Both DiPasquale and Kluempers will head to Emmitsburg, Maryland for an 11-day camp on the campus of Mount St. Mary’s University before heading across the pond to Cardiff, Wales later this month as the Women’s U20 team faces three matches in the TransAtlantic Quad Series. Last year’s series took place in Ottawa, Canada and saw Wildcats Jessica Postle (Canada), Winnie Namosimalua (USA), and Kerena Tinoisamoa (USA) all participate with the U20 teams from their respective countries.
DiPasquale and the USA Women’s U20 team will first take on Canada on July 14 at 9:30 a.m. PST at Cardiff Metropolitan University. Their next match will take place on July 19 at 11:30 a.m. PST at Cardiff Arms Park against hosting Wales. The final match will take place on July 24 at 9:30 a.m. PST again at Cardiff Arms Park against England.
