All About Cameron and Codey

Coco Gauff may be a famous tennis champion to the world, but to her younger siblings, Codey and Cameron Gauff, she’s a big sister first.

Born on March 13, 2004, Coco is the eldest of the Gauff siblings, followed by Codey and Cameron, respectively. Along with their parents, Corey and Candi, the Gauff family calls Delray Beach, Florida, their home.

Given that their parents both have athletic backgrounds, Coco, Codey and Cameron had a passion for sports from a young age. Though they all play different games, they are devoted supporters of one another.

From Codey winning baseball medals to Cameron designing a sneaker for New Balance, here’s everything to know about Coco Gauff’s younger siblings.

Before Cameron was born, the family relocated to Delray Beach, where Candi’s parents lived. The family had spent Coco and Codey’s early years in Atlanta, where Corey had history at Georgia State University.

As Corey told Teen Vogue, the family moved back to Florida when they recognized Coco’s athletic potential: “We put a plan together and said, ‘Look, let’s make some no-regret moves,’ ” he explained to the magazine.

At that time, Corey became Coco’s full-time coach, much like Venus and Serena Williams’s father, Richard. Candi also began homeschooling the children.

While they were allowed to choose which one, the Gauff children were required to play one sport as children. Of course, Coco chose tennis. As for the boys, Codey chose competitive baseball, while Cameron balanced multiple sports, including football and tennis.

The family has an athletic history. Corey was a basketball player at Georgia State University, and Candi was a top scorer on the track and field team at Florida State University.

Born on Sept. 21, 2007, Codey is the middle child of the Gauff family. Following in his family’s footsteps, he’s become a highly competitive athlete.

Codey played high school baseball with Elite Squad Academy, which permits students to attend through in-person and homeschooling, while emphasizing sport. Codey is currently uncommitted for college baseball, but has ambitions to continue playing.

Born on June 5, 2013, Cameron is the youngest of the Gauff siblings. When the family of four moved back in with Candi’s parents, Candi found out she was pregnant with Cameron. According to his mom, Cameron loves to color and draw, and in 2023 that hobby landed him a role in creating a new colorway for his sister’s signature sneaker style with New Balance.

According to Coco, he wasn’t totally sure that he was getting an official role in the shoe design at first. But she told PEOPLE that she suspected he “sensed it,” adding: “They asked him to draw on this shoe and then for the paper, so he’s young, but he kind of put two and two together.”

“He was really excited,” Coco continued. “He wears the shoes all the time.”

In her US Open championship speech, Coco thanked her parents, her team and even those who haven’t been supportive of her. To her critics, she said: “To those who thought they were putting water on my fire, you were really adding gas to it. Now I’m really burning so bright right now.”

But since her tight-knit family has remained in her corner throughout the years, she was sure to thank her younger brothers too: “I want to thank my grandparents who are home and my brothers,” she said.

Following her Grand Slam championship in 2023, Coco spoke with the Today show hosts Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie, who asked Coco about her brothers’ response to her big win: “Both my brothers were the first two people I called,” she said, before revealing, “They didn’t answer.”

She laughed and continued, “Finally, my brother called me back, but by then the ceremony had started. He was like, ‘I was running around the house and I didn’t hear my phone ring.’ ”

Coco added that the boys would soon be acting “too cool for school” about her win, but she saw the videos of them that day, filled with pride and “running around the house going crazy” after she took home the title.
