Coldplay Countersue Ex-Manager For ‘Out Of Control’ Tour Costs. | Entertainment

Coldplay is countersuing their former manager, Dave Holmes, blaming him for rising tour costs and taking out loans without their knowledge. Holmes, who split with the band after 20 years, is suing them for $12 million due to unpaid commission and backing out of a contract. In response, Coldplay claims Holmes owes them $17 million in damages due to spending errors he made on their latest tour. The band also claims Holmes took out personal loans as big as $20 million from Live Nation, using his status as Coldplay’s manager. “A spokesperson for Holmes says the countersuit does not overshadow the legitimate suit regarding the unfulfilled contract. Accusing Dave Holmes of non-existent ethical lapses and other made-up misconduct will not deflect from the real issue at hand — Coldplay had a contract with Dave, they are refusing to honor it and they need to pay Dave what they owe him”, Dave Holmes’ Spokesperson, NME.
