He Always Made Positive Music

Howard Jones Interview: He Always Made Positive Music And He’s Bringing It To Las Vegas

Howard Jones is coming back to Las Vegas. If you’re saying “who?” or “why?” you really have no idea of the place he holds in 80’s music, and the MTV generation.

MTV Had A Huge Influence On Everything 80’s

The 1980s were a decade of bright and bold fashion, vibrant music, and big changes in the entertainment industry, and how we enjoyed music. MTV debuted on August 1, 1981. And as of that day, we didn’t just listen to music – we watched it!

I was wearing bright neon, spiking my hair, and slam dancing. Videos were now on tv 24/7. And they were captivating and consuming. I’d watch all day. And I’d wait hours to see my favorite video, or artist, because I finally knew what they looked like. And each video was like a mini-movie!

Howard Jones, ABC And Haircut 100 Make A Stop In Las Vegas

Howard Jones is coming back to Las Vegas, along with ABC, and Haircut 100 (great slam dancing music). They will be at Virgin Hotels, Sunday, August 18. Having see HoJo (yes, that’s what we MTV kids call him) several times, I can already tell you that he – and ABC, and Haircut 100 – will be awesome!

Howard Jones still sounds great, and he will take you back to that magical time of neon, big hair, and – no duh – spazzing out, and being stoked about everything!

Howard Jones Always Kept It Positive In His Music

The Mike and Carla Morning Show had a great time talking to Howard Jones about his upcoming Las Vegas show, and his new live album, recorded at the O2 Arena in London. ‘LIVE FROM THE O2’ released on August 2.

I always noticed that HoJo’s music seemed to be very positive. I was curious as to whether that was just my imagination. I asked him about just that. He said that it was important to him to make positive music, because the alternative just wasn’t his thing. We probably all appreciate that now more than ever.

Howard Jones’ LIVE FROM THE O2 features live versions his biggest hits, including New Song, What Is Love, Hide & Seek, Like To Get To Know You Well, and Things Can Only Get Better. It also includes his cover version of Kajagoogoo’s Too Shy, that he does along with his friend, current band member, and former Kajagoogoo band member, Nick Beggs.

Want to go back to a fun time of synth pop, and neon? Go see Howard Jones, ABC, and Haircut 100 at Virgin Hotel, August 18!
