Taylor Swift may be loyal to the Kansas City Chiefs, but that doesn’t mean her presence isn’t felt across the NFL — as the Washington Commanders’ rookie Ben Sinnott recently demonstrated.

“His first catch was a touchdown, and the play was called ‘Taylor Swift,’” Commanders offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury told reporters during a press conference reposted via TikTok on Thursday, October 25. “You can’t really beat that to start your NFL scoring career, so he was stoked about it.”

When asked if the team has other plays named after pop stars, Kingsbury, 45, replied, “There’s a bunch of them, but that’s a good one. We’ll use that again … This [play] was new this year. We carried it for three weeks and finally got to calling it.”

Sinnott, 22, helped carry the Commanders to victory over the Carolina Panthers during their matchup on Sunday, October 20, scoring his first career touchdown in the team’s 40-7 win.

In a press conference earlier this week, the Commanders tight end confirmed to reporters that he is, in fact, a Swiftie himself.

“I think the tight end is just a bunch of guys who like Taylor Swift, man,” he said, seemingly referring to Swift’s boyfriend Travis Kelce, who is a tight end on the Chiefs. “So, it’s kind of just, like, a group consensus. It’s one I will never forget.”

While Sinnott and the rest of the Commanders are gearing up to take on the Chicago Bears this Sunday, Kelce, 35, and the Chiefs will face off against the Las Vegas Raiders in a bid to continue their undefeated season. (The Chiefs and Commanders do not play each other during the regular season this year.)

Though Swift, 34, has attended multiple Chiefs games during the 2024-2025 season, she will not be in attendance at this weekend’s matchup, as the Tortured Poets Department artist is performing three back-to-back concerts on her Eras Tour in New Orleans from Friday, October 25 through Sunday, October 27. (She resumed her tour at Hard Rock Stadium after a two-month break for three shows in Miami from Friday, October 18 through Sunday, October 20.)

After her NOLA shows, she will make her way through Indianapolis for another three-show streak starting November 1 before playing six shows in Toronto. She’ll wrap her years-long tour in Vancouver with three shows, with the final concert on December 8.

Once the Eras Tour ends, however, the 14-time Grammy winner is looking forward to spending more time with Kelce, whom she began dating in the summer of 2023.

“Taylor and Travis are very committed and serious about their future,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly in September. “Taylor is ready for the next era of her life. She knows it will be special.”

A second insider added, “They’ve built a lot of trust. They both knew what they signed up for and navigated it well. They’re in love and don’t care what others think.”
