Britney Spears Calls Her Dad A “Cult Leader” In New Book | Entertainment

Britney Spears has described her father, Jamie Spears, as a “cult leader” in her new memoir, ‘The Woman in Me.’ She stated that her father required her to attend Alcoholics Anonymous meetings four times a week.  Under his supervision, Spears’ schedule involved therapy, training, fan meet-and-greets, and performances, leaving her feeling “burned out.” She wrote about wanting to skip a meeting after a tiring residency but received no support from her mother when her father insisted she attend.  “At that moment, I started to feel like I was in a cult and my father was the cult leader. They were treating me like I was beholden to him,” wrote Spears in her memoir. Jamie, who served as Britney’s conservator from 2008 to 2021, has not commented on these allegations.
