Leonardo DiCaprio Is A Big Fan Of Euphoria
During the Los Angeles premiere of his film, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Leonardo DiCaprio expressed his admiration for “Euphoria,” calling it “amazing.” The Oscar-winning actor shared his thoughts with PEOPLE at the event.
“I just saw Euphoria, which is amazing,” DiCaprio said. Since its debut in June, the HBO series featuring Zendaya has generated debate due to its unfiltered portrayal of adolescent sexuality and substance abuse.
DiCaprio engaged in a conversation about the successful series, which recently secured a renewal for its second season, during a discussion about the evolving film industry. In a season dominated by superhero blockbusters and follow-ups, DiCaprio expressed his views on how original dramas like Quentin Tarantino’s can continue to thrive and achieve success.
“Not necessarily about the franchise aspect of it, but about the fact that we’re entering this age of streaming where things are so immediate,” DiCaprio said when asked about his thoughts on movie franchises dominating the box office.
“And all of a sudden we have a new show, eight episodes of a new brilliant show, that comes on that you can watch almost every other day,” he continued, talking about Euphoria.
Well, we all can agree that Euphoria is one of the best shows to grace the TV screens in the recent times.
Leonardo DiCaprio Hurt Himself While Shooting The Film
Quentin Tarantino often crafts characters situated in the morally ambiguous territory of humanity, but with Calvin J. Candie in Django Unchained, the filmmaker delved into the realm of despicable villainy. Leonardo DiCaprio poured his heart into portraying this ruthless slave owner, even though he experienced discomfort with the role.
Calvin’s ability to exude a captivating charm while harboring a concealed menace was most prominently showcased during a dinner party scene at his residence in Django Unchained.
A seemingly cordial conversation took a dark turn as tensions escalated. In the midst of one of his outbursts, DiCaprio struck his hand against a glass, resulting in a bloody injury that persisted throughout the scene. This unexpected injury was not scripted; it occurred because the actor became deeply engrossed in the intense moment.
Euphoria can be streamed on HBO Max.
