A Bullet From The Gun That Killed John Lennon Is Up For Auction

A bullet from the gun that killed John Lennon is set to go up for auction in the UK by auctioneers Anderson & Garland. The item was gifted to English Police Officer Brian Taylor by the NYPD after they allowed him to shoot the killer’s gun during a visit. Taylor had kept the bullet all his life as a memento, and after recently passing away, the bullet will go under the hammer. “It’s difficult to know what it’s worth and whether there’s a market for it or not. It’s a really interesting piece of Beatles memorabilia that probably can’t be replicated”, said Anderson & Garland auction house’s director. The gun was owned by Mark David Chapman, the man famed for murdering John Lennon in New York City’s Upper West Side in 1980. Chapman said in 2022 that he shot the music legend because he “wanted to be somebody” but has recently expressed shame for his crimes.
