Adam Lambert is opening up about his next big music project and the state of the music industry.
The 42-year-old American Idol alum is gearing up to drop a new EP called AFTERS. On Friday (May 31), he offered a taste of it with the unveiling of his song “Lube.” As the title suggests, it’s a raunchy floor-filler.
In a new interview, Adam teased the project, describing it as “a little horny.” He also talked about the other LGBTQ+ artists in the industry.

Speaking to Los Angeles Magazine, Adam explained that the project is “very free and liberated.”
“It’s for people owning their sexuality or their gender identity. It’s about not being afraid to go into that subject matter. You know, it’s a little horny,” he said.
Adam continued, saying that the project is “an opportunity to be completely no-holds-barred and no filter.”
“I’m just doing exactly what I’m feeling and what I’m thinking, reflecting my real life and not editing it in any way,” he said.
He continued, expressing appreciation for fellow queer pop stars.
“I’m so proud of all of my fellow artists out there able to showcase their identity and all the wonderful different colors of the Pride rainbow,” he gushed. “We have real representation now and it’s really exciting. Streaming and social media have allowed artists to find their fans on their own in a really organic way; it gives the power to the people.”
