Alec Baldwin’s Involuntary Manslaughter Trial Set For July | Entertainment

Alec Baldwin’s trial related to the accidental shooting death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins is set to commence this summer. Baldwin, who pleaded not guilty, is set to defend himself against the charges of involuntary manslaughter during the filming of ‘Rust.’ Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer scheduled jury selection for July 9 and tentatively set the trial start date for July 10 to 19. After initially dismissing charges in April 2023, prosecutors revived the case when a forensic report corroborated findings from the FBI. Prosecutors are also pursuing charges against ‘Rust’ armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed for involuntary manslaughter. Guiterrez-Reed, who is also charged with evidence tampering trial, is currently on trial. If convicted, Baldwin could face up to 18 months in prison.
