Kampala, Uganda | By Michael Wandati | On May 11, 2015, Bash Luks established Big Size Entertainment, a record label that quickly gained momentum in Uganda’s music scene. With the support of his family, the label marked a significant achievement by launching its official website in July 2015.

The company soon began signing promising artists, starting with Jim Siizer in December 2015, followed by More Tyme and Miracle Brotherz, infusing fresh creativity into the label’s roster.

In May 2016, Big Size Entertainment experienced a major milestone during Jim Siizer’s inaugural concert in Mubende, where the label raised substantial funds. This financial boost allowed the company to expand its operations and pursue innovative ventures.

Among these was the launch of the “Big Size Entertainment Talent Search” and a new tech-based service for music distribution in August 2016. These initiatives sought to revolutionize how artists connected with audiences, streamlining music sharing and creating opportunities for emerging talent.

Towards the end of 2016, Big Size Entertainment collaborated with Jim Siizer on his track “Emboozi ye Turkey,” which delved into the controversial subject of same-sex relationships in Turkey and Uganda.

The song initially flew under the radar, with limited attention. However, in early 2017, Big Size Entertainment’s algorithms detected a surge in its popularity, leading the company to provide Jim Siizer with an exciting opportunity to further his career.

Despite these early successes, by 2018, the label faced internal challenges. Diverging interests among its members became a significant obstacle, hindering its growth.

What started with enthusiasm and ambition soon faltered as it became clear that the differing goals of the team were preventing the label from reaching its full potential.

In light of these difficulties, Bash Luks made the difficult decision to close Big Size Entertainment in 2018.

Not one to be deterred, Bash Luks returned in 2020 with a fresh vision. He launched Lot Fire Records, a new record label designed to breathe new life into the music industry. Determined to learn from the past, Lot Fire Records represents a renewed focus for Bash Luks.
