Beat City Music’s new recording studio up and running for local artists | News

OLEAN — Beat City Music, Inc. has opened a new in-house recording studio, representing a leap forward in the region’s music scene and further solidifying Beat City’s commitment to nurturing musical talent and fostering a vibrant local music community.

An open house scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 12 will provide an exclusive opportunity for music enthusiasts, artists and the community at large to explore this modern recording studio.

Set up on the second floor of the building among its lesson rooms, the studio boasts top-tier equipment and a skilled sound engineer ready to help local artists turn their musical visions into reality.

Co-owner Dylan Snyder said a couple of groups have already recorded in the studio, including a local jazz band and Bolivar-based band Cattaraugus Creek. Snyder, who went to college for audio engineering, said it was an idea he’d had for a while and was made a reality thanks to a $10,000 county grant.

In a bid to support emerging talent, Beat City is proud to introduce a once-in-a-lifetime band incubator deal. For a limited time, bands can take advantage of an incredible 30% discount on recording prices, making professional-quality recording accessible to a wider range of musicians. Beat City Music has also partnered with local marketing firm Kelly Design and Development to offer a range of discounted services tailored to musicians and artists.

“We’re excited to unveil this studio to the public and offer artists a space where they can hear their music come to life with professional quality,” said Colleen Gaynor, Beat City Music co-owner. “Our partnership with Kelly Design and Development will further empower artists to reach their audience and make their mark in the music industry.”

Snyder said a couple other artists are already anticipating studio time, including one for Christmas music. He’s also been working in the studio creating music for a virtual reality video game for those with autism in connection with a Laine Business Accelerator program awardee.

Beat City Music has long been a cornerstone of the Olean music scene, providing a platform for musicians to hone their craft, connect with their community and share their passion for music. With the introduction of this state-of-the-art recording studio and the band incubator deal, Beat City is taking a giant step forward in supporting the growth and development of local music talent.

Local musicians, music enthusiasts and the community are invited to join the festivities from 6-8 p.m. Oct. 12 at 217 N. Union St. The grand opening event is a celebration of music, community and the boundless possibilities that await within the new recording studio.
