Pop star Billie Eilish revealed that she was in a “dark episode” while writing her shit song ‘What Was I Made For?’ for the ‘Barbie soundtrack. While accepting a Chairman’s Award during the Palm Springs Film Awards, Eilish spoke about her mentality while creating the song. “I was in a dark episode and things didn’t make sense in life. I just didn’t understand what the point was and why you would keep going, questioning everything in the world,” said Eilish. She explained that she was motivated to write the song after seeing a rough draft of ‘Barbie’ as she resonated with the titular character. “I felt so seen,” Eilish said, before praising the film as the “most incredible, most empowering and beautiful” piece of art in the world. The song has seen much critical recognition, including five Grammy nominations and a Golden Globe nomination.
