Blake Lively was unable to form words when asked a question about her bestie Taylor Swift during a recent interview promoting her upcoming movie.
The It Ends With Us star sat down with Australian TV show The Project on Tuesday (August 6) to discuss the forthcoming film, slated for release this week, when she was asked a question about one of her closest friends that she found extremely difficult to answer.
“That’s a wild question,” Lively quipped after the talk show host asked her to pick just one Taylor Swift song to “soundtrack her life.” The actress candidly deflected the question with humor.
“You can’t ask me to pick one song. Honestly, I love her music too much to pick one song. That’s just, like, insane. … I can tell you my favorite child sooner if you would like to know that. I’m joking. I genuinely don’t have a favorite child or song.”
Lively and Swift’s iconic friendship began many years ago and has continued to grow in strength over the years, so much so, that Swift is the godmother to all of Lively and Ryan Reynolds‘ children, including their youngest, Olin, whose name was only recently revealed to the public.
Lively also shared how she felt about the “love story” that unfolds with her character Lily Bloom in It Ends With Us, stating that she doesn’t feel like it’s a love story at all.
“Well you know to me, I don’t actually look at this movie as a love story. I think Lily is so much more than the loves in her life. This story covers her childhood. It covers her mom. It covers her father. It covers her dream. It’s Lily’s story. It’s so much more than any of the romantic relationships that she’s in.”
Lively referred to her character’s story as perfectly “capturing the messiness of the human experience.” Colleen Hoover fans, and the rest of the world, can look forward to the official release of It Ends With Us, out August 9th!
