A production that started last spring in the Garden State will be coming back to New Jersey next week as Blake Lively’s “It Ends With Us” film adaptation will film in Jersey City.

With the lengthy writer and actor strikes that roiled the entertainment industry last year now in the rear-view mirror, filming is slated to resume for several major projects. One of them, the big screen version of the 2016 New York Times Bestseller “It Ends With Us,” is looking for extras for filming next week.

According to a casting notice, the production is currently seeking kids ages 8-12 to portray children at a Farmers Market. The production of “It Ends With Us” is slated to re-start shooting next week in Jersey City, although an exact location wasn’t specified in the notice.

The movie had started shooting in Hoboken last May and is based on the book by Colleen Hoover. It tells the story of Lily, a woman who moves to a new city following college graduation and meets and falls in love with a man named Ryle.

Her newfound bliss isn’t long lived, however, as a blast from the past comes back in the form of her ex-lover who turns her world upside down.

Lively, known for her film roles and well as TV shows like Gossip Girl, will be playing Lily. Justin Baldoni, best known for his work on the TV show Jane The Virgin is co-starring in the film along with 1923’s Brandon Sklenar and Jenny Slate.

The written version of “It Ends With Us” was a huge hit, as it was the top-selling print book in 2022 and landed on the New York Times Bestseller List for more than 90 weeks.

The film was one of many film productions underway in the Hudson County before the strikes hit, as The Walking Dead filmed scenes last year in Jersey City’s Hamilton Park. Billy Crystal’s new series “Winston” shot scenes in Hoboken and Paterson, while Vince Vaughn’s upcoming film Nonnas had been filming in Hoboken, Bayonne, and Edison.
