In a recent Instagram post, Britney Spears confirmed that she will “never return to the music industry” despite being urged to by her team. Spears wrote on Instagram, “Most of the news is trash !!!… I will never return to the music industry !!!” The singer also stated that “when I write, I write for fun or I write for other people!!!” and advised those who don’t know that to read her memoir. The ‘Toxic’ singer revealed that she’s “written over 20 songs for other people” during the past two years, calling herself a “ghostwriter”. Spears also addressed the rumors that her memoir, ‘The Woman in Me’, was released without her permission, saying, “That’s far from the truth”. This post came only hours after Page Six reported that Charlie XCX and Julia Michaels were asked to work on new material for Spears’ discography.
