Carrie Underwood to perform July 19 at Neal Blaisdell Arena

HONOLULU — On the heels of performances by music icon Janet Jackson, concert promoter Rick Bartalini announced another big name performing in Hawaii for the first time ever – country music’s eight-time Grammy Award winner Carrie Underwood. She will bring “An Evening with Carrie Underwood” July 19 to the Neal Blaisdell Arena.

Judge Simon Cowell had it right when he said Underwood would go on to become the best-selling winner of any “American Idol” contestant when she won season four of the series in 2005.

Underwood with her powerful vocals has since sold over 85 million records worldwide, recorded 28 #1 singles — 14 of which she co-wrote — and has seven albums certified platinum or multi-platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. Moreover, Underwood has won over 100 major awards, has been a member of the Grand Ole Opry since 2008 and was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2022.

“Carrie Underwood is an incredible performer and, with two decades of hits, she puts on an amazing live show,” said Bartalini in a news release. “She’s known as a country artist, but she has an impressive catalog of music and a wide fan base. We’re thrilled that the people of Hawaii will finally have the chance to see her perform and we can’t wait to welcome her to the Islands.”

Tickets go on sale for Hawaii residents in an exclusive online-only presale starting 10 a.m. Saturday, March 16 HST. The geo-limited presale will be live through 9 a.m. March 23. No password will be required and an individual can purchase up to eight tickets at ticketmaster.com.

The July 19 concert will be pure Underwood as there will be no opening act.
