‘Castle’ actress Susan Sullivan stuns fans by revealing she underwent surgery for lung cancer | Entertainment

‘Castle’ actress Susan Sullivan underwent a “successful” surgery after she was diagnosed with lung cancer.

The 80-year-old star, who is also best known for her role as Lenore Curtin Delaney on NBC’s daytime soap ‘Another World’ and for playing Lois Adams on ABC’s ‘It’s a Living’, told fans about the procedure in a post on X.

She said: “Thanks for all the lovely comments and concerns. I had lung cancer.”

Susan added even though the “surgery was successful,” she is currently struggling with the “healing process”.

She said: “Thanks glad you’re out there! #friends.”

She also shared a picture of herself in the hospital with the caption: “Life‘s surprising little turns try to be ready for them with humor and hope.”

The image showed her holding onto an IV pole while wearing a hospital gown and yellow face mask, and she added: “On we go.”

Fans flooded her post with their prayers and support for the actress, with one X user saying: “Best wishes for a speedy recovery.”

Another wrote: “Sweetheart! No idea, but here’s to your continued recovery! All my love!”, while yet another of her fans said: “I hope you’ll be back, to new, asap! I’ve always loved any performance you’ve given us. My favorite, will be, Castle’s Mom. She was a delight! I loved MARTHA! I wish you all the best,” tweeted a third supporter.

“Godspeed and get well soon, Mrs Sullivan. Thank you for your uplifting posts. Here’s hoping you can maintain your good spirits throughout this process.”

Sullivan rose to fame in the 1970s, starring in films such as ‘The Incredible Hulk’ and ‘Killer’s Delight’ before landing her sitcom roles.

She spent eight seasons on the comedy-drama ‘Castle’ playing the titular writer character Nathan Fillion’s mum Martha Rodgers.
