Cate Blanchett will be reuniting with Coffee & Cigarettes director Jim Jarmusch on his next film.
The film, titled Father Mother Sister Brother, is currently in production in West Milford, N.J., before moving to Paris in 2024. Production companies Animal Kingdom and CG Cinema are backing the film.
Jarmusch first announced that he was working on a new picture earlier this year, calling it “a funny and sad film.” Details about the film’s plot or who the Oscar winner will be playing are being kept under wraps.
Blanchett played herself in Jarmusch’s 2003 anthology film. She was nominated for an Oscar last year for her performance in Tár, which was directed by Todd Field. She is also known for her performances in Ocean’s Eight, Carol, The Lord of the Rings and more.
Jarmusch’s other films include Only Lovers Left Alive, Broken Flowers, Paterson, Stranger Than Paradise and more.
