That was all evident in Thursday’s Game 3, when Paolo Banchero and Jalen Suggs had their way with the Cavs defense.

Cavs trail Magic 96-61 entering fourth quarter
It’s never good when an NBA playoff game enters garbage time, but that’s where the Cavs and Magic are right now.

Donovan Mitchell is just 6-of-16 from the floor for 13 points, and he’s had several shots fall short. Outside of a nice stretch just before the half, he’s looked off tonight. Darius Garland also has just five points on 2-of-8 shooting.

Magic, Cavs Game 3 score: Orlando cruising up 80-56 midway through third quarter

The Cavs are just 3-of-18 from 3-point range. Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley both have 10 points and have been efficient on the offensive end, so the interior hasn’t been the issue. But the Cavs simply haven’t been able to hit anything from the outside.
Banchero already has 19 points and seven rebounds.
Cavs trail by 20 points in Game 3 against Magic
The Cavs specifically had done a great job of slowing down Paolo Banchero in Games 1 and 2, but he’s imposing his will in Game 3. He has 19 points, and the Magic are firing on all cylinders tonight.
With 2:30 left in the first half, the Magic are leading 59-38.

The Cavs shot just 1-of-12 from 3-point range. And the Magic continue to be a completely different team at home than when on the road.
The Cavs are tired of talking about last year’s playoff series loss to the Knicks, which is understandable. But if they struggle to grab rebounds and shoot from beyond the arc, it’ll look awfully similar.
