Several celebrities have signed a letter to US President Joe Biden urging a ceasefire in Gaza following the Hamas attacks. The A-listers are pushing for an immediate de-escalation of the active conflict between Israel and Hamas, which is in its third week. The group calls themselves Artists4Ceasefire and includes Cate Blanchett, America Ferrera, Jon Stewart and Dua Lipa, among others. “We urge your administration, and all world leaders, to honor all of the lives in the Holy Land and call for and facilitate a ceasefire without delay – an end to the bombing of Gaza, and the safe release of hostages,” wrote Artists4Ceasefire in the letter. The statement went on to quote statistics and death tolls from the conflict, hoping to highlight the urgency of the situation. President Biden has openly expressed the US’ support for Israel and endorsed Israel’s retaliation for the attacks.
