Celebs Who Are Long Overdue For A Star On Hollywood’s Walk Of Fame

The Hollywood Walk of Fame has long been one of the highest honors for celebrities since its launch in 1960. Spanning across 15 blocks on Hollywood Boulevard, the iconic path features over 2,700 stars, which represents individuals or groups that have made outstanding contributions to the entertainment industry. But, despite the massive list of honorees, there have been conversations regarding the lack of diversity and black celebrities who should’ve been awarded the honor years ago.

Before we can discuss which celebrities deserve a star, we must first break down the process of qualifying for the award. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which oversees the Walk of Fame, has a rigorous selection process to determine who is eligible to receive a star. While nominations are open to the public, fans must get approval for the submission from the celeb’s management team.

The submission must also be sent to the selection committee with a compelling argument highlighting the nominee’s achievements and influence. If selected, the nominee or their sponsor must agree to cover the installation and maintenance cost, which totals $75,000. Nevertheless, as the conversation regarding which celebs are long overdue for a star continues, we have compiled a short list of some individuals we believe deserve the award.
