Actress Cynthia Nixon is engaging in a hunger strike to protest the Israel-Hamas war. The Sex And The City star called for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza while protesting outside the White House. The 57-year-old actor, who formerly ran for mayor of New York City highlighted that many Palestinians are currently starving in Gaza. “Almost 15,000 Palestinian civilians, 70% of them children and women, have been killed in the last seven weeks. This is unprecedented. This is more people than were killed by the US and its allies in 20 years of war in Afghanistan,” Nixon said. She, along with five US state representatives, urged President Joe Biden to take more action for Palestinians, emphasizing the toll of the conflict.
