Daddy Yankee Retires From Music To Dedicate Life To His Faith | Entertainment

Puerto Rican reggaeton legend Daddy Yankee, renowned for hits like ‘Gasolina,’ has officially retired from music. During his La Meta world tour’s final show in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Yankee revealed his decision to dedicate his life to Christianity. The 46-year-old explained that he found true purpose in his faith. “Living a life of success is not the same as living a life of purpose. This is why tonight I acknowledge that Jesus lives for me — and I will live for him, all of the tools that I have within my power – like music, social media, my platform, the mic, everything that God gave me is now for him,” said Yankee. The decision marks a significant shift for the reggaeton singer, who first hinted at retirement in March 2022. It comes amid an industry-wide copyright lawsuit against reggaeton artists over the use of the dem bow rhythm.
