DANIEL ISLAND, S.C. – Former The Citadel basketball player Daniel Eykyn 11′ has been named the Boys Varsity Basketball Head Coach at Bishop England High School.
Eykyn spent the past 13 years as an assistant coach for the Battling Bishops.
A four-year member of the Bulldogs basketball team, Eykyn played three seasons for Head Coach Ed Conroy during his first stint as The Citadel Head Coach, appearing in 75 games from 2007-10 alongside current assistant coaches John Reynolds and Cameron Wells.
“I’m extremely happy for both Daniel Eykyn and the Bishop England High School basketball program,” said Coach Conroy. “I can’t wait to watch Daniel instill the same intensity and dedication that he played with into the Battling Bishops program. Exciting days ahead for BE basketball and I will be following every game with great interest.”
For his career, the Charleston native played in 105 games for the blue and white, averaging 2.4 points per game and 1.7 rebounds as a key rotational player for the Bulldogs.
Eykyn graduated from The Citadel in 2011 with a degree in business administration.
