On December 19, Jin Ga Hyun’s agency, M Place, addressed the controversy with a revelation that the actress had already parted ways with the agency and had retired from the entertainment industry.
According to the statement, “Jin Ga Hyun was signed with us from November 2020 to May 2022 but eventually ended her contract with us and has quit the entertainment industry. All of Jin Ga Hyun’s recently released promotions had been filmed during this time”.
The agency disclosed that Jin Ga Hyun made the decision to leave the entertainment industry to pursue a different path, “She quit her struggling acting career after starting a restaurant with the owner of a previous restaurant she had worked at. We respected her wishes to lead a private life and cancelled her contract”.
Responding to the ongoing controversy, M Place expressed regret over the allegations suggesting, “We are releasing this statement because we feel regretful about the allegations claiming that she was using the show for marketing. We would like to say that Jin Ga Hyun was an actress who worked diligently in an unfavourable environment and was someone who never compromised herself. We are rooting for her”. The statement concluded with a message of support for Jin Ga Hyun’s new endeavours.
Simultaneously, the restaurant allegedly owned by Jin Ga Hyun released a statement addressing the rumours surrounding her appearance on the dating show. Denying any connection between her participation in the show and her acting career, the restaurant clarified, “We will reveal why the rumours are false and why her appearance on the show has nothing to do with her acting career after the show is over. Our restaurant has several owners”.
