Detroit Pistons jump 16 spots to select Sweden forward Bobi Klintman with the No. 37 overall pick

NEW YORK – The Detroit Pistons jumped up 16 spots to select Sweden forward Bobi Klintman with the No. 37 overall pick in the second round of the 2024 NBA draft.

The Pistons executed a strategic move, acquiring shooting guard Wendell Moore Jr. and the valuable No. 37 pick in exchange for the No. 53 pick Thursday ahead of the second round to select the 6′10 combo forward.

Klintman has been called a high-upside athlete with a significant arsenal that could be of great use, especially in the Eastern Conference, where the Pistons will look to contend against NBA champion Jayson Tatum and Finals MVP Jaylen Brown.

He is a legitimate 6′10″ combo forward with guard-like abilities.

NBA scouts say Klintman is a more than capable three-point shooter who plays with pace and space, which will help teammates Ausar Thompson, Jaden Ivey, Jalen Duren, and Cade Cunningham spread the floor.

The 21-year-old draws comparisons to NBA champion and Flint native Kyle Kuzma, Los Angeles Clippers legend Darius Miles, and De’Andre Hunter.

Klintman, who played at Wake Forest in 2023 before transitioning to the NBL, averaged 10.2 points and 4.7 rebounds while shooting 33.7% from the three-point line.
