Disney Entertainment Television is streamlining its casting operations among multiple departments under the leadership of Sharon Klein.
Disney’s new casting hierarchy structure maintains a dedicated leader for Disney Branded Television in Brenda Kelly-Grant. Stephanie Levinson will remain head of casting for the 20th Television studio and add ABC Signature to her purview. Felicia Joseph will maintain oversight of ABC and add Hulu and Onyx to her portfolio.
Barbara Fiorentino, formerly head of casting for Hulu, will take on responsibilities for identifying global talent for a wide range of projects.
The shifts and consolidation that Disney has implemented in casting are similiar to changes made in production and programming across the Mouse House’s many TV units.
Klein has long been a major player in casting for Disney and before that at 20th Century Fox. She was promoted to oversee all such activity for Disney TV last year as executive VP of casting for Walt Disney TV.
Disney will reveal its second quarter earnings early Wednesday.
