Domelipa is ready to launch her music career under her new signing with Westwood Entertainment, Billboard can exclusively announce today (March 14). She will be managed by Jorge Juárez, who currently also manages Carin León.
The Mexican influencer — who boasts more than 73 million followers on TikTok and nearly 25 million on Instagram — unveiled that her debut studio album is already in the works via her new signing and management. Billboard can confirm that the forthcoming project is helmed by Latin Grammy-winning hitmakers Ovy on the Drums and Edgar Barrera.
“Yes, there is music coming and I hope that people like it and enjoy it because it’s music that comes from deep within, literally,” the 22-year-old TikTok star told Billboard at the 2024 Premio Lo Nuestro carpet in February. “I’ve been trying all the genres there are, but what I want is for [my fans] to have that song for every occasion—to listen to in their car, during a party, for cleaning the house, for sleeping—all kinds of music.”
Born Dominik Elizabeth Reséndez Robledo in Monterrey, Mexico, her artistic name is a combination of her first name and Dua Lipa, whose music career she admires. Domelipa began using social media as a teenager, where she built a solid following through viral short clips. She was often seen collaborating with Kunno, who also found fame on social media and debuted as a singer in 2021.
Ahead of kicking off her own music career, Domelipa previously teamed up with artists such as J Balvin, Nicky Jam, Bizarrap, Manuel Turizo, Sebastián Yatra, and Nicki Nicole to cross-promote their songs.
