ESPN Sunday Night Baseball Bingo: Ryne Sandberg edition

Harry Caray had a knack for selling the fan experience at Wrigley Field. The man’s coverage of day baseball in one of baseball’s most revered cathedrals is one of the many contributing factors to my life-long love affair with the Chicago Cubs. He had a way of making you feel like you were as close to the ballpark as possible tuning in on WGN, and frequently would lament that you, the viewer, were not out there with those fans right at that moment.

Today as I walked around the old ballpark at the corner of Clark and Addison while I was thinking about this piece, tonight’s baseball bingo card and the Ryne Sandberg statue dedication festivities that I’ll be covering today for a piece tomorrow, I felt that yearning in my soul for all of you. I wish you all could be here today. I know the feeling you’ll all have for this game, this park and celebrating Ryno today on the 40th anniversary of a game every baseball fan knows as The Sandberg Game. It will exist in the heart of all Cubs fans. I’ll do my small part to bring Wrigley Field closer for all of you today, starting with this bingo card for tonight’s showcase game of the week on ESPN Sunday Night Baseball.

This was absolutely my favorite Sunday Night Baseball Bingo card to create since this series began in 2019. Full disclosure for those who are new, it began with more than a little bit of snark aimed at a broadcast booth prone to foibles. However, that booth has improved considerably over the years, and today’s card has nothing but love behind it.

As always, play along at home! If you are looking for a challenge make it a blackout game, but you really should avoid making it a drinking game unless you’re trying to black yourself out before the seventh inning stretch.
