Evacuations ordered, traffic conditions on I-580


A dry grass fire that sparked south of Tracy in San Joaquin County on Saturday has burned more than 14,000 acres, prompted evacuations and injured at least two firefighters, Cal Fire said. The Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory said the fire started near its 300 Experimental Test Site but did not threaten the facility. A shelter for large animals is being established at 2271 West Louise Avenue in Manteca.
