Taylor Swift may have been the main attraction at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards, but she made sure to thank her boyfriend Travis Kelce in the process.

At the event, which was hosted by Megan Thee Stallion on Wednesday, September 11, Swift took home the Moon Person for Video of the Year for her collaboration with Post Malone on their hit “Fortnight.” Though her boyfriend, 34-year-old Kelce, was not in attendance at the star-studded event, she made sure to give him a heartfelt nod in her acceptance speech —which fans went absolutely ravenous for.

In her speech, Swift, also 34, recounted how after each take of the video shoot for the song she would hear cheering from across the studio – which turned out to be Kelce. “That one person was my boyfriend Travis,” she revealed, adding, “Everything this man touches turns to happiness and fun and magic.”

Fans loved Swift’s public display of affection for her man, who is the quarterback of the Kansas City Chiefs, and let it be known on social media. “If Taylor Swift had settled at any point in her life, she wouldn’t have found the magic, fun, and happiness she’s always deserved. And if she didn’t hold onto the belief that writing your pain could bring good, Travis Kelce wouldn’t have made a bracelet,” one fan on X (formerly known as Twitter) noted. “It’s clear she values Travis Kelce’s support and presence in her life,” another stated.

This year, the “All Too Well” singer’s impressive performance at the VMAs didn’t stop with Video of the Year. She was nominated for 12 awards and walked away with seven, surpassing Beyoncé’s record of 26 VMA wins and tying for the most overall wins at 30. Swift’s victories also included Song of the Summer for “Fortnight,”Best Pop, and Artist of the Year, among others.

Swift recently made headlines after she publicly endorsed Kamala Harris for president on Instagram on Tuesday, September 10, after the first debate between Harris and former President Donald Trump aired. She refrained from talking politics during her VMAs speech, instead choosing to honor the victims of 9/11 by saying she’d been thinking about, “Everyone who lost a loved one and everyone that we lost, and that is the most important thing about today, and everything that happens tonight falls behind that.”
