Freddie Mercury’s Mustache Comb Was Purchased For $189K | Entertainment


Over 30,000 personal items belonging to the late Freddie Mercury, Queen’s frontman, were auctioned for a total of $50.4 million.  These items, once owned by his former fiancée Mary Austin, included iconic pieces like a Tiffany & Co. mustache comb, which sold for $189,000.  Mercury’s Yamaha G-2 baby grand piano, on which he composed ‘Bohemian Rhapsody,’ fetched $2.16 million.  His signature crown and cloak ensemble from Queen’s “The Magic Tour” in 1986 sold for $801,560.  A handwritten manuscript containing lyrics to ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ also got sold for $1.71 million.  The auctions spanned one week and had various themes, including stage items and art collections.
