Country music legend George Strait made history on Saturday night, June 15, at Kyle Field in College Station, Texas. Addressing the record crowd of 110,905 ticket-buying fans, Strait exclaimed, “What’s going on everybody? We got some Aggies out there? Oh yeah! I’m ashamed to say this, but this is my first time ever being in Kyle Field… damn! Just invite me back, I’ll come!”

In a groundbreaking moment, George Strait set an all-time attendance record for a ticketed concert in the United States. The previous record was held by The Grateful Dead, who had 107,019 fans at their 1977 show at Raceway Park in New Jersey. Strait’s concert also established a new record for Texas A&M’s Kyle Field for a single event, surpassing the previous mark of 110,633 set during a Texas A&M football game against Ole Miss on October 11, 2014.

The historic night featured not only George Strait but also special guests Parker McCollum and Catie Offerman, both fellow Lone Star natives and MCA labelmates. Strait’s illustrious career includes numerous records, such as the most No. 1 singles of any artist in any genre, consistent Top 10 hits for 30 years, and the most No. 1 albums, gold albums, and platinum albums in country music history.

Before the concert, Strait debuted two new songs, “MIA in MIA” and “The Little Things,” both from his forthcoming album, “Cowboys And Dreamers,” set to release on September 6. Fans can catch Strait at his remaining 2024 concert dates, including stops in Salt Lake City, Detroit, Chicago, and Las Vegas.

George Strait’s monumental performance at Kyle Field will be remembered as a defining moment in live music history. With a record-breaking crowd and an unforgettable lineup, the King of Country Music solidified his legendary status once again.
