The Billboard Women In Music awards, hosted by award winning actress Tracee Ellis Ross, will stream tonight after taking place live on Wednesday at the Youtube Theater in Los Angeles.
The annual event recognizes women in the music industry. Rising stars, creators, producers, and executives are honored for their contributions to both the industry as well as their communities.
The honorees include women from all across the globe, which according to Billboard demonstrates the degree to which music has become a global enterprise. The Woman of the Year is Colombian superstar Karol G, Young Miko from Puerto Rico will be receiving the Impact award and Maren Morris will receive the Visionary award.
Among the presenters is Lainey Wilson, who won her first Grammy Award for Best Country Album in February with “Bell Bottom Country.”

Country crossover superstar Maren Morris has experienced phenomenal success on the Billboard charts. In total she has had 12 songs on the Hot 100.
In 2018, her pop, dance song, “The Middle” with Grey and Zedd peaked at number five with “The Bones” peaking at number 12 on the chart just a year later. Additionally “The Bones” spent nineteen weeks at number one on the Hot Country Songs chart, making it the second longest running number one hit song on the charts by an unaccompanied solo woman in history.
Morris has also had 13 songs on Country Airplay including four number ones – “I Could Use A Love Song,” “Craving You,” “Girl,” and “The Bones.” Her 2016 album, “Hero,” and her 2019 album, “Girl,” both took the number one album spot on the Top Country Albums chart. Her latest album “Humble Crest” reached number two in 2022.
In 2023, Morris announced she was “quitting country music.” In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Morris said the genre was burning itself down. Morris later clarified that she was only leaving behind the “toxic” parts and keeping the good parts.
