Jamie Foxx says medical emergency started with a ‘bad headache’

(TMX) – Jamie Foxx shared some new details about his medical emergency last year that left him unable to walk and kept him out of the public eye for several months.

A video posted on Instagram, Foxx is speaking with fans in Phoenix.

“I had a headache, asked my boy for an Advil,” he said, then snapped his fingers. “I was gone for 20 days. I don’t remember anything.”

Foxx said that his sister and daughter took him to a doctor and then took him to another doctor who told them, “there’s something going on up there,” pointing to his head.

“I won’t say it on camera,” he said. “Yeah, I don’t want to say it on camera.”

Last April, Foxx had a medical emergency while filming “Back In Action” in Atlanta.

He opened up about his long recovery while accepting the Vanguard Award at the Critics Choice Association Awards Celebration of Cinema and Television Honoring Black, Latino and AAPI Achievements in December 2023.

“You know, it’s crazy, I couldn’t do that six months ago. I couldn’t actually walk,” Foxx said.

Foxx said he would not wish that experience on his worst enemy.

“It’s tough when it’s almost over, when you see the tunnel. I saw the tunnel, I didn’t see the light,” he said. “I have a new respect for life. I have a new respect for my art.”
