Jamie Foxx returned to the public eye at the Critics Choice Association Awards, during which he made an emotional 12-minute speech. The actor received a standing ovation as he walked across the stage, beginning his speech by recalling when he “couldn’t actually walk”. Foxx endured a serious health scare earlier this year in April which left him hospitalized and fearing for his life. While Foxx has been very tight-lipped about the details of his illness, he says it has given him a new lease of life. “I cherish every single minute now — it’s different. I wouldn’t wish what I went through on my worst enemy because it’s tough when it’s almost over…I have a new respect for life. I have a new respect for my art”, said Foxx. He continued by praising his sister Deidra Dixon and daughter Corinne Foxx for saving his life.
