Tokyo-headquartered rights management and distribution company NexTone Corporation has entered into a new partnership with US-based music technology company, AudioSalad.
Led by CEO Masahiro Anan, NexTone works with global digital service providers as well as domestic DSPs in Japan. NexTone says it has established partnerships with more than 800 clients.
The new partnership with AudioSalad allows the company to expand its distribution reach for its Japanese content to a broader worldwide audience.
Via this partnership, NexTone’s clients will now have their content distributed to all leading music services, covering the global market.
This is the first Japanese partnership for AudioSalad, which is part of New York-based SESAC Music Group.
AudioSalad was acquired by SESAC Music Group in March of this year.
With offices in New York, Los Angeles, and London, AudioSalad’s global client base includes prominent independent music companies, such as Secretly Group / Secretly Distribution, Mushroom Group, Mad Decent, Stones Throw, and others.
When the company was acquired by SESAC Music Group in March, the latter company said in a statement that AudioSalad has a “strong reputation” within the digital music sector.
The statement added that “over the last decade AudioSalad has amassed a global client base with over 16 million audio and video assets under management”.
“We hope that this partnership will make Japanese music more accessible than ever to music fans around the world.”
