Jay Sean Hosts Intimate Event In Partnership With The Glenlivet To Discuss Representation In The Music Industry

Earlier this week, multi-platinum recording artist Jay Sean hosted an event at Chica & The Don to highlight the significance of South Asian representation in the music industry. Known for Billboard No. 1 hits like “Down” and “Do You Remember,” Jay Sean was one of the first South Asian artists to achieve mainstream success and showcase South Asian culture. To honor his impact, he partnered with The Glenlivet for an event titled “Breaking Barriers – South Asians Rise in the Music Industry.” This event celebrated Jay Sean’s groundbreaking achievements and offered guests a chance to hear him discuss his experiences as a South Asian artist and his efforts to promote other South Asian talent.

During the event, Jay Sean led a discussion and fireside chat where he shared the challenges he faced and his journey to success. To further support South Asian artists, he founded his own label, 3AM Entertainment, which is dedicated to promoting South Asian talent. And to add a festive touch during this discussion, The Glenlivet crafted specialty cocktails featuring their single malt Scotch whisky for this occasion.

Jay Sean ended his discussion noting that he hopes more South Asian representation is seen in the music industry and that Indian music and artists become more ingrained into the culture.  And focused on the fact that the only way this can happen is for the South Asian community to continue to support their artists and music.  Following this discussion, guests were treated to a delicious dinner and more The Glenlivet craft cocktails.
