Jennifer Aniston adds sculpting paste to LolaVie

Since launching her hair care brand LolaVie, Jennifer Aniston has slowly but surely rolled out a bevy of products that have each become cult-favorites in their own right. The Glossing Detangler, for instance, has more than 1,700 positive reviews on the site and is my personal top pick because it smells delicious and makes the post-shower brush-out a breeze (even for the gnarliest of tangles). Then there’s the Perfecting Leave-In, which ranks among Aniston’s favorites (if she was forced to pick!), because it hydrates, fights frizz and leaves hair looking glossier.

What I appreciate most about LolaVie, however, is the brand’s methodical curation. Aniston’s choice to debut with just one product (the detangler) speaks to the brand’s entire vibe — LolaVie doesn’t inundate you with options. Instead, each and every product in its catalog serves a distinct purpose. And that includes today’s debut, the Sculpting Paste.

“We’ve been working on this for more than a year,” Aniston tells CNN Underscored in an exclusive interview. “It’s the final step in the hair routine — the last product you should use before you’re heading out the door. The period at the end of the sentence, if you will.”

Meant to sculpt and style, the medium-hold paste was dreamed up by Aniston and her longtime hair stylist Chris McMillan. “Before, Chris and I would combine a sculpting paste from some wonderful other company and then mix it with a serum from another wonderful company — because the paste was too thick and sticky, and the serum was too soft and gooey,” she explains. “But when mixed together, they were the perfect combination, and that’s exactly what we formulated the Sculpting Paste to be.”

Great for taming flyaways and baby hairs — Aniston swears by it for a “post-workout zhush” — the Sculpting Paste can be used on blow-dried, air-dried or damp hair, and gently molds and holds, while creating texture. “It’s really lightweight and a little goes a long way,” says Aniston. “It’s going to give you that piece-y, textured look. Or when your hair is up in a bun, or slicked back in any kind of an updo, it’s great for fine-tuning flyaways around the front of the face.”

What’s next for LolaVie? Aniston says the brand has more hair care products in the pipeline, but the company’s “fewer, better” mantra remains steadfast. “We just continue to take the same approach of only launching a product once the formula is perfect, the packaging is perfect, the scent is perfect — we aren’t in a rush.”

While LolaVie has, until this point, solely focused on hair care, the actress known ’round the world for her perfect tresses teased a pivot into the lifestyle sector. “We’re primarily focused on hair care right now, but there are other things we are also possibly working on that might edge us out of that area,” she says, adding, “We’ve got a lot going on over here, cooking in our little minds.”

Below, Aniston gives us a sneak peek into her daily hair routine — check out her top LolaVie picks (and how she uses them!).

Boasting ingredients like bamboo, birch and sugar maple saps and kale, carrot and lemon peptides, the Sculpting Paste can be used on damp or dry hair and can help style every type of hair, from short and long to wavy or straight. “I have been using it after a workout, when my hair’s gone a little crazy,” she says. “Just add a little bit of paste to tame the flyaways and off you go!”

If you haven’t tried the LolaVie x Wet Brush collab yet, you’re missing out. Perfect at detangling and massaging the scalp, the brush also has open vents, which makes for faster drying. “Oh gosh, I use this brush all day long — dry hair, wet hair, you name it,” she says. “Especially after a workout, it’s really good to give a little extra love to your hair and not rip through it. My friends with daughters who have hair down to their butts swear by this brush, too, it’s made shower time for them so much easier.”
