Jimi Hendrix’s Bandmates’ Heirs To Sue For Millions In Royalties | Entertainment

A lawsuit regarding Jimi Hendrix’s music is set to go to trial. A London judge has ruled that the heirs of his former bandmates can continue to sue Sony Music over the rights to three classic albums. The estates of Noel Redding and Mitch Mitchell claim ownership of a share of the rights to albums created by the Jimi Hendrix Experience. They have been in a legal battle with Sony for over two years. The judge rejected Sony’s argument that the case should be dismissed, stating that the dispute over the rights must be decided in a trial. The heirs hope to obtain justice for the musicians’ families, emphasizing the significant contributions Redding and Mitchell made to Hendrix’s recordings. The lawsuit revolves around agreements signed in the 1970s and whether they release Sony from legal claims. The trial date is yet to be determined.
